Fake 50 cents coins made from metal?

Yesterday, as me and a colleague of mine were looking for loose change, we stumbled upon a fake 50 cents coin… yes, only one among all that we have. As we know, real 50 cents coins does not stick with a magnet because they are made from tin (known as timah in Malay). These fake coins are made from steel, which obviously will stick to magnet. The details on it’s surface are rather bad and markings are poor too, especially the engraving of the "BANK NEGARA MALAYSIA" on the side lines…
